Sometime ago I talked about how much I love the butterflies. If you haven't read it, then you might like to click here. Butterflies are indeed fascinating creatures. God is just awesome!
It was mentioned that the butterfly wasn't always a butterfly, it actually grows into it. It starts with a tiny egg that hatches into a caterpillar, the caterpillar then spends time in a cocoon (also known as the chrysalis). It is after spending time in the chrysalis that it changes into a beautiful butterfly. So it got me thinking, there must be something about The Chrysalis!
The important message about the butterfly is its ability to go through changes. The cocoon (chrysalis) is where the transformation happens. We also go through the cocoon in some way. The cocoon represents a dark, lonely, secret, painful, and everything not-so-cool experience. In this light, I share my inspiration.
Changing from a Caterpillar into a Butterfly
There can be no butterfly without the caterpillar. There can be no butterfly without the cocoon. For every beautiful butterfly, there was an ugly cocoon.
The cocoon protects the caterpillar as it transforms: As the caterpillar undergoes changes, its body parts melt into stem cells that begin to take new shape. The cocoon keeps it from breaking out of shape. Things happen so that things will not happen. Does that make sense? Yes. We go through moments that seem so bad to us, not knowing God makes them happen because he is protecting us from danger. There is a reason for every season.
The time for transformation varies from another: The time required to complete this transformation process varies from about two weeks to a month from one species to another. It depends on the survival in the cocoon. You do not need to compare yourself to another. We all operate on different levels of grace. Because God specifically loves you specially, He therefore has a special course for your life. Let God. He will fulfil His promises.
Everyone has got a need to break out of one cocoon or the other. It is God who brings the breakthrough when He sees how we grow in faith, character and obedience. These times help us grow into the next phase of destiny. This review points on the value of the transformation process. The process of transformation is no play. See, when you appear before your time, you will disappear when it is time. I have come to understand that nothing happens to me accidentally. God sees my every move and watches my every step.
We need to go through that pain, that darkness and despair to understand joy, light and hope respectively. We all need time to process the changes in our lives. We may get understanding by:
Every season we go through, no matter how difficult or uncomfortable, is for our benefits. I can bet the butterfly wasn't so comfortable being a caterpillar in that cocoon through those times. Still, it held on knowing that the future is better, brighter and more beautiful. It doesn't matter what you're going through. It will pass. It will end beautifully.
So whatever happens, discover the benefits, find the lessons and be grateful. Also, have a picture of the future- a vision. That which is great is always worth the wait.
I see you growing into what God has made you to be. Let the light shine!photo credit: gphoto |

- Spending time alone
- Going on a vacation
- Being in the quiet
- Maintaining serenity
- Listening to music
- Writing out a poem/story
- Seeking God's face
- Formulating a plan

I so love how God speaks to us through His creations. I will always delight in the beauty of butterflies. :)
