Things We Do For Love

It was the during the Id-el-kabir Sallah break. As usual, the Traffic in Lagos, Nigeria was crazy because many more people (the Muslims especially) were traveling to celebrate the season with their loved ones. So you dare not travel if you can't stand the traffic.

That I'm seated for minutes to hours on a vehicle that's either moving very slowly or not moving at all drives me nuts. I find it unbearable.
Yet I frantically chose to travel for love.

My beloved friend, Suzzy was getting married on Saturday, at 11a.m. It was going to take place in Akure, Ondo state. I couldn't afford to miss her wedding for anything in the world. Lagos to Akure is a four-hour distance by bus. I left home at 6 a.m. Of course, the traffic gave me its best shot. It took me about nine hours to get to Akure.

You need not ask how untidy I looked. It didn't matter. I did it for love.

Love makes us do crazy things. Extremely irrational things. Sometimes, the things we hate and other times, the things we vowed never to do. Love strikes a chord within us than nothing else has ever touched.

I do not think I could do that if my head calculated the risks farther than what my heart feels for Suzzy.
I'm grateful I saw Suzzy in her wedding dress. We hugged, laughed and danced.

Love is sustained by action.

What is the craziest thing you've ever done for love?
