NEWS: Liberia Declared Free Of Deadly Ebola Virus

Hi sweets! How is the weekend going? I just want to quickly drop this post before the parboiling chicken gets ready. *whispers* I'm cooking.

Liberia has been declared free from Ebola

I love me some good news! Can you remember when I posted here that the Ebola cases have reduced? Oh yeah! Finally, the World Health Organization has concluded that Liberia is Ebola free.

It was after no new cases were reported for 42 days - which is said to be twice the maximum incubation period for the deadly disease, that this declaration was made.

Some hours ago, the World Health Organization said in a statement:
"The outbreak of Ebola virus disease in Liberia is over."
Peter Jan Graaf, the head of the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency, urged vigilance until the worst-ever recorded outbreak of the virus was extinguished in neighboring Guinea and Sierra Leone.

However, the Medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said that Liberia's completion of the WHO's benchmark for the end of an Ebola epidemic should not lead to complacency.

I am so happy for Liberia. Glory to God. *whispers* Biko, lemme run back to the kitchen. . .
