Questions for Reflections Before You Turn 30

It is your life, your priorities. It would be good to ask yourself some questions at this point in time, so you can set your priorities right. (Aww! I heard that voice in my head again)

Before I Turn 30

Ever since I bumped into an article about 'what to do before you turn 30', I'd been praying about living before dying.

I am actually in my 20s, but it's funny how I get the creeps when I hear people say that life changes in one's 30s. It's not a bad thing, is it?

I like change. Just as I believe you do too. Almost everyone hopes for change. (*whispers* It was "change" that brought the current President of Nigeria into power). Change can be a sign of growth and learning. I believe the effect of change is dependent on the outcome of the choices we make.

I do not want to regret my life at 30. That's why I'm asking myself these questions. . .

What am I doing? Why am I doing it?

What do I really want out of life?

If I die tomorrow, would I regret not doing something?

Am I really happy with the way my life is?

What gives me peace? Am I doing enough to get that peace?

How have I grown over the years? Am I happy with it?

Am I living a reactive or creative life?
What does my heart feel?

Do I think positive or negative? Am I doing anything towards negativity?

Do I accept and love myself? Am I at peace with myself?

Am I afraid of something? Do I need to take a step to remove that fear?

What kind of choices have I made in life? How have they inspired others?

The most important thing is to live the life you should be living today so that when that day comes, you will say without regrets; "It's my 30th birthday!"

"Those who look up to God are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame." Psalm 34:5

I can't wait to see how the journey to live positively, mindfully, creatively, joyously, and authentically unfolds. Till then. . . I'll be enjoying my ride with God. :)

  4. Beautiful thoughts dear. The years between 20-30 is when most people really live out their entire adult life in a microcosm - build their bases, have their greatest experiences and make all the mistakes needed to set them up well for a more progressed future lifestyle in their middle and latter adulthood. You are too wise for your age, if I must say. Lol

  10. Gr8 article, I especially liked the point u made about how people change at 30. As they have new people or new interests In their lives , their priorities change n the way they behave changes. The sooner we answer these questions, the more we r able to live out right.
