STYLE: Is Brown The New Black?

Hiya! I think we all need to apologize to brown. We (I, especially) underestimate brown a lot.

Shades Of Brown

I rarely wear brown unless it is in my accessories or mixed with some warm colours (as I mentioned here).

Black is my go to – always has been, always will be. But, this season I have challenged myself to wear colours that I would not normally wear such as white, grey and brown.

I have had this brown shirt for a long time and I have never wanted to get rid of it because it has such a classic look to it.

So, finally after a few months I decided to dust it off, wear it and shine through it. Yep.

As soon as I made up my mind to wear this shirt I knew I could pair it perfectly with the straight cut skirt I wore here, because the softness and bugly design of the top would balance well on a skirt that has no "drama".

Then, staying in the light colour scheme there were no better shoes I could think of to finish off the whole outfit than these same wine (maybe red? lol) shoes I wore here.

Brown kind of creates a stable and wholesome feeling, like a connection with something . . . the earth, nature. It makes you feel like you belong. I could say brown provides feelings of organization and connection, as well as cozy feelings of relaxation and warmth.

The person who took this picture and the one below is still a learner. Let's forgive them.

Well, I'm not going to deceive myself and say I like brown. I don't. Maybe not yet. I am only challenging myself more to step out of my comfort zone on colours and see what more goodies they have to offer.

I've learnt to embrace this nerdy shade of me. Do I even have a choice? Lol.

I’m sure we all have a colour scheme that we are used to and feel comfortable in but it is always nice to surprise yourself and see what else you can pull off.

Remember you can pull off just ANYTHING with confidence, poise and belief that you can.

Are you a fan of brown? Which colour requires you to step out of your comfort zone?
