Papa Ajasco's Big Stomach Is Not Fake

Who remembers Papa Ajasco?! Many of us grew up watching him. I met the real Papa Ajasco on Monday. He still looks the same!

Papa Ajasco

Papa Ajasco as a personality is a brand. I tell you. His role in 'The Ajasco Family' is so prominent. He left the show for a while, but he’s back on the show now.

Nobody can be like Papa Ajasco. He is an icon.

For the record, 'The Ajasco Family' is a Nigerian family television sitcom created by (one of my bosses) Wale Adenuga in 1996. The main characters in the series originally included "Papa Ajasco", "Mama Ajasco", "Bobo Ajasco" "Boy Alinco", "Miss Pepeiye", "Pa James" and "Pa Jimoh".

Papa Ajasco was widely considered to be Nigeria's most watched family comedy series at that time. Seems a lot has changed since then.

Seeing a man with a funny haircut and big stomach, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘Papa Ajasco’. He is unique like that.

For those who don't know, his real name is Richard Abiodun Ayoyinka.

He trademarked the role of a promiscuous bald-headed husband, who often hits his head whenever he is angry, confused or shocked. He always crack us up with his iconic ‘Ojigbijigbijigbi' line. (When he did it in real life, I just couldn't stop laughing).

The 'Papa Ajasco and Company' crew was invited to perform live at an event I attended. I saw an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands.

Two tweeps confirmed that we look alike (comparing the glasses and smiles). I could probably play the role of 'Girl Ajasco' or 'Aunty Ajasco' if given the chance. Hehehe. . .

Papa Ajasco's big stomach is real. It's not foam or framed to look real. I know this because I touched it. Lol.

It's Friday. Yay! Have you got that Friday Feeling?

Let's share some childhood memories: What movie/series did you grow up watching?
