It's a New Week. No long story. Here is a reminder for us to focus on the most important thing.
What's Your Chase?
You've been told to follow your dreams. Yeah? But what do you do when what you decide to chase starts to run away.
Do you stop running? Or, do you continue to run?
If you are running, where are you running to?
Dreams are beautiful things; they fill us with hope and optimism; they make us view every day with new possibilities and cause our hearts to radiate with joy at the prospect that “today might just be the day.” They are wonderful, that is, until they consume your entire being. It’s at that moment when you come face to face with the reality that maybe it’s actually not what life is all about.
But I want to propose that there is a time when it’s not only necessary but actually appropriate to stop chasing your dream.
I’ve written about this before, but the truth is it’s a constant battle for me. This desperate need to be useful to God, to do something big enough to matter can be overwhelming. And sometimes it doesn’t happen as fully as I need it to.
It’s exhausting to be spinning my wheels and feeling emptier and emptier.
And God has been asking me, gently calling me, to lay down my nets, and follow hard after Him.
So I'm singing Tasha Cobbs' Holy Passion:
So I'm singing Tasha Cobbs' Holy Passion:
Give me one pure and holy passion
Give me one magnificent obsession
Give me one glorious ambition for my life
To know and follow hard after you, hard after you
Let's stop chasing our dreams, and start chasing the One who gives dreams.
Have a blessed week.

Question to apply: What do you chase each day? How can you chase Jesus?
