Dear Diary, This Is A Husband Appreciation Entry

I'll be celebrating six months in marriage in 1,2,3,4 days. I thought it'll be fun to appreciate my husband in my diary. I don't do it enough.

To My Husband

I prayed and talked about my Future Husband for a long time. See here, here, there and there. Little did I know that you had existed in my past and were already in my present. If I had known you were the one God had instructed me to do that 21-Day Public Prayer and Fasting for ehn, I probably wouldn't have prayed with such passion and zeal. Lol.

Kachi, you are my answered prayer. You are the man of my dreams. Not just that, you are the man who has slain the dragons in my nightmares. You have exceeded my dreams, brought to life a man my dreams didn’t know existed.

No man has ever given me breakfast in bed, but you do it like it's a normal thing. I haven't gotten over our first Valentine's Day yet. The stunt you pulled. My!

The day we vowed to be together forever, I thought that was the best moment of my life. Now I realize the best moments are the little moments with you every day. The way you pause as you leave the house, the way you hum as you watch me dress, the way you catch my eye for a special glance, the way you sing me songs in the morning. . . I can never get enough of you.

You are a good man. No, I mean, you are a great man.

I pray that you become all that God has created you to be. I love to pray for you. You know that, right?

You may not really know how much I do but I always love to pray for you from head to toe. Yep. Today I’ll just focus on this your fine head that I love to rub, especially when it is newly shaved. Ooh la la! Ah, let me pray for your head already;

Dear Lord, I pray for Kachi's Head — He will be filled with the knowledge and wisdom of God. He will think as the Holy Spirit would lead him and not the flesh. He will be the head and not the tail. He will lead other heads of families and organisations in the name of Jesus.

Dear Lord, I pray for Kachi's Eyes — You will keep his eyes from temptation. He will turn his eyes away from sin. May he keep seeing how beautiful I am and how blessed he is to have me with new eyes everyday. 

Dear Lord, I pray for Kachi's Ears — He will hear Your still small voice instructing him. He will not be confused on the way to go because his ears would be close to your heart.

Dear Lord, I pray for Kachi's Mouth — His words will be pleasing to You. When he sings, may burdens be lifted and hearts be changed. Teach him to continually speak with love and grace even when it is not convenient for him. 

Dear Lord, I pray for Kachi's Neck — May responsibilities not stiffen his neck. May the decisions that turn his head honour You in all regards. Give him the grace to be flexible and easily adaptable as he moves from one leadership role to another. 

In the name of Jesus. Amen.

When people ask me what I love about you, I don't know what to tell them. Because really, it’s not just ONE thing about you, it’s EVERYTHING.

Godly, Christian man? Check.

A spiritual leader? Check.

Passionate about the things of God? Check.

Financially responsible? Check.

Romantic? Check.

Sensitive? Check.

Tall, dark and handsome? Check.

Funny? Creative? Smart? Check, check, check!

You are just everything!

I have dated guys who just didn't understand me, my true essence. They haven't understood, and have never wanted to put in the energy to even try. I am not the typical woman, or so I have been told, and that's fine with me. But Kachi, you get me totally! You understand me and let me be who I am without trying to change my idiosyncrasies and dreams. What freedom there is in that!

Today, after six month in marriage I am so glad I followed God’s leading. It’s not that we never have issues, or that we do not get on each other’s nerves occasionally, but life in marriage is so much simpler when you know that this is the person that God made for you. There is a perfect peace and confidence that comes from living in God's will. We know with all our heart that God is with us — no matter what the future holds — we will grow and increase in love.

When I look back on past relationships, I see why you and I are the best PERFECT MATCH. There is no one else I could be doing this life with.

Kachi, life with you makes perfect sense.

Thank you for being such a fantastic husband in so many ways (erm, can't mention them all here!) I could go on and on forever. I really and truly appreciate and love you.

I pray, that each of you can find your own piece (and peace) of heaven through your marriage. It is surely something that can exist if you LET GOD guide your life.

My book, HWMH which is going to be launched in few days by the grace of God talks about the events and moments that led up to my marriage to Kachi. It is the most personal, intimate and honest experience I have ever shared. I am anxious but excited about it altogether.
