Happy 10th blogiversary! It's hard to believe that I started this blog ten years ago.
Plus, Happy Birthday to me!
10 years is a long time in terms of digital content output. Few people have been blogging that long, and even fewer have been on Instagram that long (it was launched less than 4 years before my blog) – or is it the other way round I wonder? I’d say that most of the blogs I followed and/or interacted with in the early days are now no longer, so for me to have lasted this long is quite an achievement.
My blog is quite different than most others, not fitting into your typical food, travel, book, fashion or even opinion blog. Writing through personal experiences I guess is what makes this blog different. One Bible verse that has encouraged me throughout the years is Mathew 5:16:
Happy 10th Blogiversary
When I began this blog in 2014, I was just dipping my toe into the writing waters. I considered myself a poet, weaving words into rhyme, not being aware it was God who was connecting the dots and giving my life its rhythm.
In some ways, it feels like the years have sped by, but at the same time, a lot of life has been lived in those years! What remains consistent is the faithfulness of our God. He has moved in incredible ways than I can ever imagine.
As published on June 26, 2014. I launched out to the public - Heart Rays. |
How do I start to express how much has changed since I first hit the publish button on Blogger? To get a sense of this journey, you might enjoy looking back at my previous Blogiversary posts:
- 2015: The 1st blogging year
- 2016: The 2nd blogging year
- 2017: The 3rd blogging year
I’d love to give you a brief history of the evolution of the blog but I wouldn’t want to keep you much longer. If I poured my heart into this as I’d wished to, you'd see how I've transformed—from single to married, jobless to self-employed, broken to whole, and everything in between, all while sharing my journey. If you're truly interested, I encourage you to explore the archives. There's a lot to discover!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
The feedback I receive is enough to keep me going.
As I look ahead, I can only imagine what the Lord has in store for the future of AMAKAMEDIA. One verse that keeps resonating with me since I started to ponder on our 10th year is Psalm 102:16:
“When the Lord shall build up Zion (AMAKAMEDIA); he shall appear in his glory and brilliance.”
I am TOTALLY CONVINCED that ten years being on blogger is a foundation for what God has been preparing me for. You know how I love to boast about God. All my life and all my days, I’ll tell of his beauty, love and grace!
Thank you to everyone who is taking this journey with me - whether you've been following for years or just stumbled upon this blog today - I appreciate each and every one of you. You, my sweethearts, are the reason I keep this blog going.
Thank you for your questions, e-mails, and phone calls. Many of you have opened the door to your heartaches and concerns. You’ve told me your struggles and shared your joys. You’ve welcomed me into your lives. I am honoured to walk the path with you.
I stay hoping and praying that you find something here to inform or inspire you or something that makes you smile.
We are truly in this together and I just love it!
Cheers to continuous evolution!
Happy Birthday to me!
Stay positive.
Stay inspired.
Stay be-YOU-tiful.
