A Bag of Dangote Cement now Sells for N1000, no longer N1700

I have a dream that one day, I'd build houses. Yeah! Although it's said that Rome wasn't built in a day. But you never can tell, miracles happen. *winks*

And there is a miracle already here. *smiles* For those who are currently building or planning to build.

The leading cement manufacturer, Dangote Cement Plc has announced huge cuts in the price of the essential product.

The new price was announced by the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, GMD/CEO, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, pegging the Dangote 32.5 cement grade at N1,000 per 50 kg bag, while the higher 42.5 grade would sell for N1,I50.

He said that the new prices were exclusive of the value Added Tax, VAT, representing about 40% discount on the prevailing market price of the product currently sold for N1,700 irrespective of the grade, across the country. Oh, I'm so glad to hear this.

This is cheaper that it has ever been since 2005. Mr. Edwin mentioned that it was in line with the commitment of the company to the development of Nigeria.

Well, it's a good thing. But I do hope for two things. Firstly, I hope this is not a political gesture for 2015. Secondly, I hope the quality remains the same or betterstill, improves.

May this miracle be permanent o
