NEWS: Church of England gets First Female Bishop

Ok, I'm not so sure if this is some good news. *blink* but at least, it is quite interesting.

Libby Lane becomes the Church of England's first female bishop yesterday! Despite entrenched opposition from traditionalists, who say that the clergy's top rung is no place for a woman.

Lane is 48 years old and was a regular parish pastor. She was the vicar of St Peter's Hale and St Elizabeth's Ashley, in Greater Manchester, since April 2007. She has been praised for her humour and common sense.

Her appointment came five months after the church of England's general Synod voted to admit women bishops.

She said: "It is a remarkable thing that this happen to me, and people have been very supportive of me personally, but this is about a moment in the Church's history."

Women are taking over the world o. This is actually not a new phenomenon. Countries such as the United states, Canada and Australia have already appointed Anglican female bishops.

Hmmm. . .  And just yesterday, someone tweeted, "Can Nigeria have a female president?" I shrugged at it but I'm here thinking, can Nigeria have a female bishop too?
