Hello everyone! How are you doing? I hope you're doing as well as I am. I'm in high spirits today. This one is different. I'm hottt!
God Enjoys Hot Akara
Do you know that God has a good sense of humour? I mean, he is the best comedian of all time. He cracks the funniest jokes, and tells the most interesting stories.
Last weekend, I had a swell time with God. Let's call it a personal fellowship with God. So we got talking about some things, and the next He said was, "I want to make you like hot akara." "Huh? Wait-a-minute! Did I hear You hear You right?"
One amazing thing is, I've had a strange hunger for akara few days before. But unfortunately, before I got back from work to buy from Iya Segun - the woman who sells akara close to the house, the akara had turned cold already.
I actually sent my cousin to go get me some. That was how the naughty poor boy wasted my money on cold akara. I was pissed. I gave it back to him. Check on this, three things happened there. . .
- I didn't look twice at the akara
- My appetite for akara dwindled immediately
- I rejected the akara
It dawned on me how nauseating cold akara might be to God. On the surface, there is really no difference between the hot akara and the cold akara. They both look the same. But on a deeper level, they don't have the same taste. Yeah, Right! Hot akara is more delicious. Hehehe. . . They might have been out from the same frying pot, they might have been fried in the same oil, but when the temperature changes, it makes a BIG difference. The difference of taste.
See, there is something about taste. Taste is a personal thing. We all have different taste for different things - we don't like the same flavour of food. What pleases you is "to your taste". Right? Fine. Again, when we say someone has "a good taste", it means the person appreciates the finer things of life. For example, we can say Bola of BMF has a good taste for fashion and Munchyberry has a good taste for shoes because they know how to choose the best designs and styles.
Aha, here is the gist. God has a good taste too. He has a good taste for man. But the question is, what do you taste like?

The Bible says in Rev. 3:16:
"So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth."
Being a lukewarm is no option. He will spit you out when you choose that. Therefore, you just have to be as hot as akara so that He can enjoy your flavour. Are you hot enough?
(I laughed so hard when He said He might probably eat me up because He enjoys the taste of hot akara too. Lmho!)

According to Flo of All Nigerian Recipe, to make akara, you need to remove the bean coat before frying. And if you don't, then the akara will be spattered all over the vegetable oil. She thoroughly explained the process of making akara. (you can read it here) It's quite interesting, I must say.
The process of making might not be easy. Actually, it isn't. It requires removing every weight of sin, breaking out of old habits, soaking up in His presence, being well-seasoned in knowledge, sizzling with holiness, and stepping out for evangelism.
What if God wants to make you like hot akara. . . Can you handle it?
