POEM: Love Still Here

I waited for love
That it should come
I imagined it to walk by
For I stood there
Wanting love to find me

I started on my way
Engrossed with my doings
While I was working, walking
It appeared like I felt something

"Who is that?" I asked
I expected a baritone as of a male
Or a soft tone as of a female
It wasn't exactly what I imagined
It came roughly, dusty and rusty
But I saw the shape and recognized it

It was love.
I knew it was love from the start
That beautiful day we met
So I found love
Or perhaps love found me
We've been together ever since
With love still here
