“Well, the first thing that clued me in to the fact that there was something really scary about breast cancer, way beyond the thought of dying, was coming across an ad in the newspaper for pink breast cancer teddy bears. I am not that afraid of dying, but I am terrified of dying with a pink teddy bear under my arm."
~ Barbara Ehrenreich

- 3 -
“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. That surrender, even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me. So when I feel like quitting, I ask myself, which would I rather live with?"

Here is the latest one trending on social media. Annie took the awareness campaign to another level. She had a photoshoot to create more awareness about cancer and the importance of self examination.

- 11 -
"Recent studies have shown that 20% of breast cancer is discovered by self examination rather than mammography and we must realize that cancer is not a respecter of persons. It could happen to anyone, even I Annie Idibia. Imagine the lives that will be saved if more women physically checked themselves on a regular basis, imagine if we could stand against breast cancer by fighting the odds via self examination. Let’s save the life of a woman today, let‘s examine ourselves today!"
~ Annie Macaulay-Idibia

What would you say to someone battling with cancer?

I'd never say "I know how you feel" because I don't. I personally love to write out some of my favourite quotes. I mean write in the literal sense of it. When I’m having a bad day there is something about pulling out a card or jotter, seeing handwriting, reading a message. It’s just more personal than seeing it on a screen. Real paper, real writing is very soothing. What say you?

Be positive. Be inspired. Be encouraged.
