Is Your Life Going Round In Circles?

Have you ever felt that your life was going round in circles? That you were stuck on some broken record? Repeating the same cycles – the same patterns? I know I have.

And it can be frustrating. Dizzying. Maddening. Just crazy!

When You Feel Like You've Been Going Round A Circle

Whenever June comes, I'm naturally joyful and livened up. I scream and dance without music (there is always a song playing in my heart). It is the month I was born! But I found out I wasn't euphoric as much as I would normally have. I was really struggling, both physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Everything seemed to be turned upside down. I felt like my life was slow. I felt like nothing was happening. I felt like I was making no progress at all. ( I'll talk more about this later)

"Why are the "enemies" after me like this?"

I was losing my mind.

******
Exactly last year (June 19, 2015)  I was in a very depressing state. (You all know about my heartbreak and all).

Suddenly I felt I was almost right at the same spot.

I started thinking deeply and praying violently. "Lord,  fix me! Turn my life around. Give me a new story. Give me a new song. " I knew it was time to let go of my, I-know-where–I-am-going pride and ask for directions. It didn’t make sense to continue to ride around and around in circles when help was just a prayer away.

I needed God to draw my attention to Him, to pull me up to see things from His perspective. I needed to understand what was going on in my life.

The First 'Going Round A Circle' Experience Ever

This feeling isn't new. The Children of Israel experienced the first going round the circle experience. It took them forty years to complete a less than two-week journey.

They spent forty years wandering in circles instead of enjoying the prosperous land God promised them. They exhausted valuable time and energy going around and around the same mountain, passing through the same desert land because they refused to obey God’s directions.

The Children of Israel forfeited forty years of abundant living in the land flowing with milk and honey because they allowed fear, rebellion and disobedience to block their promise. It wasn’t the distance to the land that stood in their way of receiving the promise; it was the attitude of their heart.

My Lesson

I learned from my round-a-circle moments that time waits for no one. You can choose to keep going around in circles because you fear change, you are intimidated about what someone might do or say, or you are scared of losing some material things or relationships. I discovered that you can lose a lot more if you continue going around the perimeter of your life.

If you lose some material things (like I lost my phone), you can work to get them back. If you lose a job, you can eventually get another job. If you lose your house, you can find another place to live. If your goodwill is lost, over time you can build your goodwill back. However, the major thing I have learned from this experience is that you cannot get the time you lose going in circles. Once the time is gone, it is gone. No matter how much you want to turn back the hands of time, you cannot.

See ehn. God's told me to launch a talkshow, but I've been scared. "How can a small girl like me organize talkshows and call great personalities together to discuss issues I know little or nothing about?" I forget He is a God that can do anything. I forgot He has been the source of "Heart Rays". I failed to believe He could use me if I made myself available. I didn't show up for Him to show off.

Pray with me:  Forgive me, Lord, for being so reluctant to follow you wholeheartedly. Please help me to discover how to live life without disconnecting from you. Amen.

It does not make sense to continue to go around the same circles when help is only a prayer away. God gives clear directions to where He wants us to go and do. If we continue to travel on our own terms, we will live life in insanity, in darkness and in doom. And that means we will find ourselves doing the same thing over and over and over again.

It is time

It is time to end the madness and get off this circle. It is time to change directions and get new results. It is time to stop wishing and dreaming and start enjoying all that God has promised. It is time to experience the best of what life can be.

This is the set time.

Change will not be easy, but you can do it. Frustration will try your patience.  Discouragement will distract your pursuit.
Distractions will come from many directions.
You will want to throw in the towel when it looks as if you can’t find the correct exit ramp to get off the circle.
You will want to lose focus because you can the light anymore.

Don’t give up hope, you can make it.
Don't give up hope,  you will get there.

However,  you must;
Stop trying to do it your own way.
Stop following your wrong directions.
Stop listening to people's opinions on where you need to go.
Stop conforming to the status quo.
Stop dabbling into sin.
Stop playing small.
Stop compromising your principles and values.
Stop.

Question: What would you do differently to take you out of that circle?

“The Lord our God spoke to us at Horeb saying, you have stayed long enough at this mountain. Turn and take your journey…”
 ~ Deuteronomy 1:6-7

Happy New Week.
Stay inspired.
Love you loads.
