STYLE: The Secret Of That Ankara Hatinator

Hey sweets! How was your weekend? Was it fantastic or somehow? As for me, I dunno where the pimples on my face came from o. I just woke up and saw them there.  :(

Anyways, let's do what we have to do. Last week on WIW, I told you I had a secret to tell you. Here it is . . .

Secret of My Hatinator

I woke up on that Sunday morning not knowing what to wear. My options were limited due to the fact that PHCN hadn't restore power for days. I probably said "Nepa! Nepa give us light na!" almost 1001 times in less than 30 minutes. I waited for a miracle. It didn't come. :(

Notwithstanding most of my clothes had wrinkles, I had to go to church. I'm not one who misses church at any slightest opportunity. Remember how I went to church even when my skin reacted badly to sandflies? Exactly. If sandflies didn't stop me, Nepa sure wouldn't. Lol.

I turned my wardrobe upside down. Lo and behold, an Ankara gown came staring at me. So I chose it! It became my favourite piece of the day.

When it was time to tie my scarf (like I usually do), I got an idea. Y-e-s!!!

All I needed to bring my idea to light were pins. Pins are indispensable tools. They are tiny yet they do big and important things. Whoever invented pins? God bless that head.

I had pins, a clip and more pins. And oh, a small hat too.

I wrapped the Ankara scarf around the hat. The pins were used to hold both fabrics and put them in place.

While I was at it, I felt I was wasting time. "will it work?" "Should I not jerjerly tie my scarf and be going?" I continued anyway.

It was a state of emergency. When I discovered it was turning out great, I giggled. :)

I had already made the Ankara hair clip long before then. So all I did was to make sure it stays firmly on the covered hat by using pins.

And that's it! It took me less than 15 minutes to get this done.

Ankara is a life-saver when PHCN tries to kill you. And pins? I will create a special post just to talk about them

I went to church feeling so fly!

Shhh . . . don't go telling everybody it wasn't exactly an Ankara hatinator. I told you because you are my sweethearts. Let's keep this secret between us. Shall we?

*in Falz accent* Do you pipu haff light in ya house?

P.S Only Nigerians can relate to "Nepa give us light na!". But I don't care. *rme*

Happy Sunday!
