5 Outstanding Things Stylish Women Do

Truth is, the fashionable friends you envy have some very helpful habits that make looking stylish, confident, and cool a daily reality.

Happy Style-Sunday! I'm so excited about today's post. Leggo!

How To Be Creatively Stylish

When you see a stylish woman and wonder how she has the budget for such fine clothing and accessories and just assume that her income is more than triple yours, think again.

A stylish woman is creative. The reason why she makes looking stylish so simple is because she has her own set of tips and tricks up her sleeve to make it appear that way.

Got some tips to share with you:

Tip #1: Neutral Shoes

A stylish woman has her most expensive shoes in a neutral colour like black, brown or navy. While they may look and are expensive, she knows that this one pair will work with everything, hence making all of her outfits look polished without a lot of work or spending a lot of money.

I have a pair of brown shoes like that. Those shoes ehn! They are like carry-go-nothing-do-you!

Tip #2: More Separates

A stylish woman would rather have three tops and a skirt/jeans than have five dresses, to increase her wardrobe options and to repeat her outfits more often in order to make dressing up in the morning quicker. She also uses shortcuts like limiting the colour palette in her wardrobe to make getting dressed easier.

If you want to be a well dressed woman, it’s not about buying a ton of new clothes or creating a sea of options that you will never wear, it’s about distilling it all down to something that is simple, manageable and, most importantly, suits you.

Tip #3: One Statement Piece

Ever wonder how some women make even jeans and a t-shirt look impossibly chic? It has a lot to do with the fit, of course, but there's another subtle way these ladies are elevating their outfit. They have ONE hero piece on. It might be a great colourful belt, a special pair of earrings, or a TM bag, but in every case, one accessory adds infinitely more polish.

For me, personally, Ankara does it. 😉

Tip #4: Personalize Trends

The most stylish women will say, “this dress? It’s from Okrika (a thrift store)” and actually mean it.

Yeah, the blouse itself might be probably pretty cheap, but it’s really the way she styled it—maybe she tucked into great-fitting jeans, unbuttoned one extra button, rolled up the sleeves, and added a killer pair of statement earrings—that made everyone comment on it.

Tip #5: Copy Creatively

A stylish woman enjoy making note of other people’s outfits she likes and notices items she needs to add to her wardrobe. She tends to notice and create her own style from what others are wearing.

Bought this top from a thriftstore last year. Then one day I got an idea to COPY the same style with a 2-yard Ankara fabric. V-i-o-la!
We only made the puff bigger. Not to add that it's more beautiful than the original. I deserve some accolades biko 😁

It's OK to get ideas from other stylish people or pieces.

Extra Tip: Have Fun

A stylish woman plays with her clothes. She can wake up in the morning, bring out pieces from the wardrobe, stand in front of the mirror and try out as many outfits as possible. Then she discovers a combination that had never been seen anywhere else. She owns it. It becomes hers. Her style.
