Top 3 Influential Women I'm Wishing A Happy International Women's Day In 2020

All over the world, March 8 is celebrated as International Women's Day. I thought to celebrate the women who have been greatly influential in my life instead of doing the regular Sunday-Style post today.

3 Women I Celebrate In My Life Today

There are many influential women in the world from all walks of life—politics, business, sports, and the arts to name just a few. Do you know what makes them influential? It's the RESPECT they give and receive. Respect had to be earned or given. You just can't take it.

In my opinion, being influential is more about being respected.

According to Webster Dictionary, to be 'influential' means to possess influence.

in·flu·ence | \ ˈin-ˌflü-ən(t)s\
1: the power or capacity of causing an effect in indirect or intangible ways:

2a: the act or power of producing an effect without apparent exertion of force or direct exercise of command:

You don't have to be in the limelight or all over the media to be influential. All you got to do is to effect a positive change and make impact right where you are.

It's not about how much of the limelight you have.

Qualities That Make A Woman Influential are:
  • Integrity
  • Sincerity
  • Authenticity
  • Trustworthiness
  • Self discipline
  • Honesty
  • Consistency
  • Morality
  • Audacity
  • Dependability
  • Distinctiveness
  • Compassion
  • Vulnerability
  • Respect
  • Kindness
  • Reliability
  • Visibility

Are there any other characteristics you would like to add to this list? What's your star quality?

In line with International Women's Day, I am celebrating these three influential women in my life today:

#3
My Mother-in-law
Mrs. Blessing Onyekachi

My husband's mother is a great role model who has taught me a lot about being a kind, strong, independent woman. She is so welcoming and loving. I look at her and wonder, "how is she so sweet?"

When I was courting Kachi, she said to me, "any woman who marries any of my sons would just be thanking God for the rest for her life". And I can say with all humility that this is literally the story of my life.

There is never a day I am not grateful and blessed for this amazing and loving woman that is one of the most influential women in my life.

Most importantly, she is teaching me the importance of family and unconditional love. For her, family is her priority.

#2
My Mother
Mrs. Nkechi Ajaegbu

Yes, of course. My mum.

My mother is the perfect combination of strong minded and determined. When she has her mind set on something, she will accomplish it or will try her best until she has no more try in her. This quality of hers is what has influenced me the most in my life.

The most important lesson she has taught me from a young age is that I should never give up my financial independence for anyone. My mother has always earned her own income and has never asked anyone in her life to pay something for her, because she could pay for it herself.

And guess what? She still calls me her princess, even though I am now married.

P.s I dreamt about my stolen phone last night. The last time I checked, the Police are yet to find it and it's already been a month. Nevertheless, I'm not giving up. Sorry if you've been trying to reach me via phone call or WhatsApp. I may be retrieving my call line by next week. Brb.

Stay inspired.

Stay lovely.
