“But you—who do you say that I am?” Jesus asked.
Narrowing Down My Niche
Sometimes you start to doubt your own unique identity. Sometimes you get confused with the reality of what you’re trying to do and how you’re going about it. Sometimes you just need more depth in understanding what you are already doing. I wanted to see me through the lens of my closest friends… and they showed up for me in a different way than I expected them to.
I am humbled to think that this is what S, P, M and B think of me.
Question 1:
When you think of "AMAKAMEDIA," what vibes or feelings do you get?
S: One who is very passionate and pours her emotions into her content.
P: Vibes of authenticity and openness.
M: Amaka as a person. Personal blog, where she shares her journey, news or some stuffs like that.
B: AMAKAMEDIA
Question 2:
What words or phrases pop into your head when you hear "AMAKAMEDIA"?
S: It's in the name.. Media personality.
P: Soft spoken. Creative. Christian. AfroCentric. Bold.
M: Gist
B: Gospel. Marriage. Fashion.
Question 3:
How would you describe the uniqueness of "AMAKAMEDIA" content/services/production/etc?
S: Originality and natural. I haven't seen a copied content though except that you copy me.
P: Not really. It's more like all about Amaka as she journeys through life with God.
M: The uniqueness is in her personal story. She shares her reality without sugar coating
B: AMAKAMEDIA
Question 4:
Do you think "AMAKAMEDIA" is all about Amaka? Why?
S: To an extent... You blog or build content around yourself, your style and many other things though outside but limited.
P: What jumps at me from your posts is the openness with which you discuss the diversity of subjects you touch on. (Note i haven't visited your blog in recent times, though).
M: Yeah and probably a means of helping others who are in similar journey.
B: Not really.
Question 5:
Any cool ideas or suggestions for leveling up "AMAKAMEDIA"?
S: Open up... I understand you build content around yourself, Christian lifestyle and sometimes dress styles.. Maybe you can add general like branding and other media stuff sha. I feel you are limiting your self and abilities.
P: As stated in 4. I haven't visited in recent times. But if memory serves me correctly, I would say a bit of revamp on the general layout of the blog.
M: Images, videos .....maybe thats what is needed and for people like us that don't read, short summaries of the gist.
Question 6
Mention 3-5 services/product offerings by AMAKAMEDIA.
S: Blogging. Vlogging. Writing. Screaming. Don't know others. But I know you can add internet marketing and these new things people do online.
P: Writing/blogging. Event Compere. Red Carpet host. Voice over.
M: I am not sure of this, sales of her book, maybe hosting of events, maybe running ads for people. I am not sure I know it as just a blog site and not service provider.
I am super thankful for the feedback. What a gift! Thank you S, P, M and B.
Now, why did I ask these questions? Of what use are the answers to me? Well, well…
Let’s ponder on why Jesus asked his disciples, “who do you say that I am?”
By the time of this question, Jesus had already performed many creative miracles. He had
- healed hundreds of sick people,
- fed thousands of men and women with a few pieces of fish and bread,
- turned water into wine,
- commanded wind and wave,
- freed men from demons,
- and so much more.
Jesus was a very famous man while on earth. He was a very big celebrity. He was a global phenomenon. Everyone knew something about him. You can’t know Jesus and not have a very strong opinion about him. As in!
Jesus, the God of all eternity.
He was at the beginning of all things.
Everything in heaven glorifies His name.
And YET, Jesus chose to become a simple man, a simple son of a human being, born of the virgin Mary.
“What are the people saying about me, the Son of Man?”
Among every other title such as Son of God, Son of David, Master, Rabbi, Lord, King, Christ, or Messiah, it’s “Son of Man” that he zoomed in on.
A whole Jesus. I mean! Jesus that is God himself.
This one pass humility!
Chai! I find it so surprising that Jesus really really preferred to call Himself the Son of Man.
Being a son of man was what mattered most to Him. It is the CORE of his purpose. It was the very essence of his being on earth.
You will read that many times from the Bible whenever Jesus speaks of Himself. He says,
- The Son of Man had no place to rest His head on Earth, but He can give eternal rest in heaven.
- The Son of Man was despised and suffered, but He gives comfort and peace.
- The Son of Man died on a cross, but all who believe in Him have eternal life.
Look at that!
Hmmm…. Guys, you are not wrong when you say I am a writer, an honest person, a true Christian, a creative, a host, and every other thing mentioned. HOWEVER, among all these things that you think I am, I like to zoom in on blogger.
I am a BLOGGER.
I will be zooming in more on that title as I seek more details about my unique and authentic pathway.
Thank you.
