1. Self-Reflection
The first step in creating something remarkable is taking a step back to reflect.  

Why it matters:
  • Understand where you are and where you’re coming from.  
  • Define where you want to go next.  
Self-reflection is your compass—it reveals truths about your journey without sugarcoating them. As I worked on every project, I constantly asked myself:  
  • Am I creating work I’m proud of?  
  • Is this the path that aligns with my full potential?  
These reflections helped me refine my direction and focus.

2. Outline Your Creative Goals

- Set goals that align with your creative vision, not to impress others.  
- Include timelines, action plans, and milestones.  
- Be honest about your capacity and priorities.  

3. Commit to Reading
Reading inspires creativity, expands your imagination, and improves your discipline.  

 I immersed myself in books about Self-Mastery, Parenting, storytelling, and business. Those books didn’t just inform me—they fired me up in various ways. 


Create a reading list for 2025. Include books, articles, and even scripts that challenge and inspire you.

Let’s Wrap Up The Month of November (2024 Highlights)

It’s a wrap! Honestly, I didn’t keep track of my days the way I normally would during this time of year. I just lived, taking each day as it came. But you know what? I woke up today absolutely thankful for every blessing that has crossed my path.  

In the calm of my heart, I heard a whisper:

This November felt like a soft embrace—a hug filled with quiet joys, simple pleasures, and moments that should last forever. I mean it. Looking back on how the month was, I am yet to catch my breath. Oh my!

Here are the highlights I’d love to share with you:

  • A Mini Getaway
Earlier in the month, Kachi and I indulged in a quiet escape—more like a couple date outing. It was refreshing, peaceful, and a sweet reminder to slow down and smell the roses. We had heart-to-heart conversations that connected us deeper on a soulful level. I can’t describe it. Our marriage is super blessed.

One of the books I read in the third quarter of the year was ‘Bringing Up Girls’ by Dr. James Dobson. Such a great book. I actually read his first book on raising boys before discovering he had also written for the girls. How amazing. I really enjoyed it and loved it even more because he showed me ME. The little girl in me received some doses of healing. 

Here’s an excerpt from the book that resonated with me on my journey of being a girl:
Girls…. They are tender and more easily wounded than their brothers. And politically correct or not, I maintain that their inherent emotional nature makes them more easily manipulated. A longing for love and connectedness lies deep within their feminine souls. This is why they open themselves without commitment to guys who might, given a miracle, give them the affirmation they crave. They don’t seem to get much pleasure out of the perverse acts they perform. They are hoping against hope that some adolescent boy out there will fill the void and ease the ache inside. And increasingly, those unmet needs are created by something missing in the girls’ relationships with their mothers and/or fathers.

RELATIONSHIP: How Do You Know a Christian Brother is Serious About You?

Lol. Let me be very honest. There is no way to know these days; you literally need God. That was my immediate response to a mentee who asked how to know if a Christian brother is serious about her. As I thought about it a bit more, I realized that writing this article could help many more who are navigating the complexities of Christian relationships. 

I live for this kind of conversation. I mean, I wrote a whole book on how I got into some of these situations too.

The struggle is reealllll. It’s tough out here. Figuring out if a Christian brother is genuinely serious about you can feel like navigating a maze. In a world filled with imposters, charmers, and those who are just passing time, how can you tell who’s serious about walking this journey of life with you?

First of all, I want to say congratulations on reaching this point where you start to consider whether this brother is really worth staying with. You are very blessed and mature enough to recognize that this is one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make in life. 

Now, let’s get to how you can discern if a Christian brother is genuinely serious about you:

1. He Prioritizes Prayer and Spiritual Growth

A serious Christian brother will consistently prioritize prayer, not just for himself but for the relationship. If he regularly seeks God’s guidance for both his life and your relationship, it’s a strong indication of his commitment. His desire for spiritual growth will reflect in how he supports and encourages you on your journey too. Regular prayer together and spiritual discussions reflect his commitment to building a faith-based relationship.

You should also pray harder on your own; ask God to reveal his true intentions. Seek confirmation from Him. Remember, the Holy Spirit can give you insights that are beyond what the eyes can see and the heart can feel.

2. He Values Your Principles and Boundaries

He is NOT after sex. Yes, let me put it out plainly. The one who is serious respects your body, boundaries and values. He will be attentive to your convictions and will seek to align his actions with your shared beliefs. His respect for your values will be evident in how he interacts with you.

Watch his actions, not just his words. Consistency is key. A serious Christian brother doesn’t just talk the talk—he walks the walk. If his values are more about personal pleasure or worldly pursuits while yours are about serving God, you’re bound to clash. Be with someone who values his relationship with God even more than you do.

I love these definitions.

Every Christian, young or old, should be lovely. The question is, are you lovely? Would the people in your life say, "Wow, she's a lovely person." I thought I'd share the above definition of the word lovely because it really captures what I believe a lovely person should be - full of love, inspiring, having appealing beauty (both inside and out), enjoyable and delightful.

The work of loveliness ultimately starts from within and, among many other things, is revealed in the following ways:
  1. The way you style yourself 
  2. The way you speak
  3. The way you carry yourself

When I received the invitation to be a facilitator at the Lagos West Youth Confab, themed “ENDORSED,” I felt an overwhelming sense of purpose and divine timing. What a kairos moment. It confirms my declaration for the year:

“Ten years being a blogger is a foundation for God has been preparing me for.”

I was beyond excited about the opportunity. I knew it was about time!!! Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 tells us that there is time for everything, and after a season of growth, we will enter a new season, the season of harvest. Glory! 

Preparing for the Workshop:

The topic I’d been entrusted with is ‘Content Creation for the Digital Age,’ a subject that’s incredibly relevant in today’s world. As I’m preparing for this workshop, I can see how each step has been divinely orchestrated. From the experiences I’ve gathered in digital content creation to the insights I’ve gained in mentoring, it’s clear that God has been equipping me for this moment.

And to think that I’m currently leading a 3-week training on content creation with some amazing teenagers is mind-blowing. It feels like every step of my journey has been perfectly timed, equipping me with the tools and insights I need to make a meaningful impact at the confab.

Praise is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with God, and understanding its importance can deepen our worship and connection with Him. Why do we praise God?

1. Because of Who He Is:
God is worthy of our praise simply because of who He is. He is the Creator of the universe, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. His majesty, holiness, and sovereignty command our reverence and adoration.

2. Because of What He Has Done:
We praise God for His mighty acts and wonderful deeds. From creation to salvation, God’s works are awe-inspiring. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us, and this ultimate act of love and sacrifice is a central reason for our praise.

Hard times, as painful as they may be, happen to us all.

No one is exempt.

Experiencing trouble, hardship, and sometimes, heartbreak, is inevitable. But we can all have peace through struggle because God is with us.

I used to be a worrier until God delivered me of the panic attacks and anxiety, and granted me peace. Meditating on John 14:27, I felt a profound sense of peace. It was as if God was wrapping His arms around me, reassuring me that everything would be okay. That peace gave me the courage to face the challenges ahead with confidence and trust in His plan.

There are no limits to God’s rule. This is part of what it means to be God. He is sovereign over the whole world, and everything that happens in it. He is never helpless, never frustrated, never at a loss.

Sovereignty is all about God’s divine control over everything that happens. Nothing is outside the control of His loving hand—not the schemes of the wicked (even the plans of history’s most evil dictators), not natural disasters, not the workings of demons (or even Satan), and not even my own free will. Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for the good of God’s children, and verses 38-39 imply that nothing is beyond the control of God’s sovereign hand.

Something funny happened this morning. For this #21DaysofPraise series, I usually go to my Google Photos to find a picture that best represents what I’m thankful for each day. I search for words like “creation,” “grace,” “prayer,” etc. Today, I searched for the word “opportunity,” and the picture above popped up. I froze. MediaCraft? I hesitated. But then, the Holy Spirit gently whispered, "That was a door He opened for you."

I had many reasons for my hesitation, but I’ll share two of them with you. First let’s look at the scripture.

Welcome to Day 17 of our #21DaysofPraise series! Today, we focus on the boundless mercy of God. His mercies are new every morning, and His forgiveness is always available to us. No matter how many times we fall short, His compassion never fails.

Sometimes, I can accept that God is merciful, but I think He might be a little tired of extending that forgiveness to me. I worry that as I come to him with a guilty heart, He thinks, “Again??” God will forgive me, but I feel so inadequate that I think He must not like me very much.

This is where mercy comes in. Mercy is a big topic to cover, but it’s key to understanding God’s desire to set us free from guilt and have a close relationship with us.

Reflecting on my journey, there have been countless times when I have felt the weight of my mistakes and shortcomings. In those moments, I have turned to God, seeking His mercy and forgiveness. Each time, He has met me with open arms, offering grace and a new beginning

I love the church. Like, I mean, genuinely love the church. I was one of those who missed attending physical church services during the compulsory lockdown to combat Covid-19 in 2020 (the gist is here).

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” — (NIV)

This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing. In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.” — (TPT)
Today, I’m genuinely thankful for the church community that God has placed in my life.  

Each week during services, I look around and see people I love, people I’m proud to know as my church family. There are those who are always faithful and joyful – no matter what, and others whose faith has grown through hard times. I see beautiful children who were ‘miracle babies’, born with little chances for survival, but praise God they are still here and doing well! 

I see people who have overcome traumatic experiences, personal set-backs, financial hardhips, and broken relationships. Other people come with consistent hope that their spouse or other loved ones will come to know the Lord. Some have overcome cancer and other serious illnesses. Sadly, others are the survivors of those who did not receive physical healing here on earth, but received eternal spiritual healing instead. Lord, thank You for these people.

See how that suits right into the moment. That’s God’s Word for you. It is a living, active force.

Today, I celebrate the incredible gift of God's Word. The Bible is not just a book; it is a living, active force that guides, comforts, and transforms us. Through His Word, God speaks directly to our hearts, offering wisdom, encouragement, and truth.

Have you ever wondered what the world would be like without the Bible? Have you ever wondered what your life and hope for the future would be without the Word of God? Why do you study the Bible? And, must you?

I believe that without the Bible, it would be much harder to guide society—both for good and evil. The Bible provides a blueprint for living, sharing morals within a community, and teaching parents what values to pass on to their children. Without it, something else would need to fill that role.

A world without the Bible would be very different. Personally, without the Bible, my life would have been full of worries and tensions.

Reflecting on my life, I can see how God has been at work, growing my faith and shaping my character. He does this in different ways using three catalyts:
  1. People
  2. Circumstances (especially pain)
  3. Spiritual Disciplines
People: It seems just the right people come into my life at just the right time to mentor, support and invest in me. Shout out to The Women at the Well Ministries who came into my life just when I was navigating singlehood.

Pain: God uses heartbreak to bring me to a place of total dependence upon Him. When things are going great and all is well, if I am not careful I soon forget that I need God and can develop a “self-dependent” attitude. But when I am faced with trials and trouble, I get to the place where I desperately need Him. And because I need Him, I rely on Him, abiding in Christ and receiving all the life-giving resources I needed all along. I celebrate my pain (a little too much) because there in lies my growth and victory!

I am so grateful that we have a God who is always there to give us hope and encouragement, constantly offering us a fresh new day, week, year, and, most of all, a new life. We are so blessed to have a God that is a God of new beginnings.

Every day is a new beginning. You don’t have to look far to recognize new beginnings in day-to-day living. We recharge our phone, use the redo/undo an option on our device frequently, replace a broken plug to give an appliance a second life, retrace our steps to find a lost item, reconnect with a friend or family member, and rethink a question from a new perspective. We watch our bodies regenerate broken nails and bones, heal bruises and scar, and even regrow to fix that bad hair. 😉

Throughout my life, God’s faithfulness has been a constant source of comfort and strength. His unwavering love and mercy are renewed every morning, and for that, I give Him praise.

Reflecting on my journey, I can see countless instances where God’s faithfulness has carried me through, especially from being single to marriedI have really come a long way - from crying over heartbreaks upon heartbreaks to being married to KachiI am in awe of how my life has become so much better every passing day. God has faithfully kept His word; He has never failed me yet.

Every morning, I try to start my day by counting my blessings. From the breath in my lungs to the roof over my head, these daily blessings are constant reminders of God’s goodness. I keep a gratitude diary (or journal as it is now called), jotting down every little blessing I noticed throughout the day. This practice shifted my perspective, and I began to see God’s hand in every detail of my life. Even the seemingly insignificant moments—like a kind word from a friend or a beautiful picture—became powerful reminders of God’s love and care.

This is one of the many reasons I look forward to November. Every day, I intentionally share my thoughts, experiences, and blessings publicly. By the end of the year, I am always in awe. God is so faithful. Check out my November to Remember Diaries.

It's Friday, often tagged “Flashback Friday” by social media marketers. So, let's take a little flashback to… when no one understood what I was going through, including myself.. 

Everything seemed to be falling apart—relationships, finances, career. I felt like I was drowning in my troubles. But in the middle of this chaos, I chose to praise God. I would sing worship songs and read Psalms of praise. I would share encouraging words to help those struggling too. It was quite a journey.

How do we navigate life’s storms when friends are distant, our safe havens have disappeared, and we’re tossed about with nothing left? You lose your job. You’re struggling in multiple classes. Your home feels like a war zone. You’ve just been diagnosed with a serious illness. Your church is facing major challenges. There is depression. And so on.

Today, we bask in the overwhelming love of God. His love is boundless, unchanging, and available to us at all times. It’s the kind of love that reaches the deepest parts of our hearts and transforms our lives.

Reflecting on my life, I can see the undeniable evidence of God’s love. It’s all over me!!! I see it! I feel it! I smell it! God loves me!

Times when I felt completely unworthy and lost, struggling with self-doubt and fear were the most times I lost sight of God’s love for me. I dabbled into unhealthy relationships. I fell into sin and did things that were so beneath my identity in Christ.

Welcome to Day 8 of our #21DaysofPraise series! Today, we focus on the incredible promises of God. His promises are sure and steadfast, providing us with hope and assurance in every situation.

When I am feeling distant from Jesus, wondering if He truly cares, if He notices my dilemmas, the antidote is not sheer willful determination to have more faith. This only leads me to despairing guilt.

Instead, I turn to the truth of God’s promises. I fill my mind with the truth of all He’s promised me, and soon, that truth begins to create feelings of love, joy and hope in my heart.

As we meditate on God’s promises today, let’s be encouraged by the truth that His Word never fails. His promises are our anchor in the storms of life, and they provide us with hope, strength, and direction.

One particular promise that has always held me up is found in Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

In a world of uncertainty and chaos, it’s comforting to know that we can find refuge under God’s wings. He is our shield, our stronghold, and our safe place.

There have been so many “I-could-have-died” moments in my life where I’ve felt God’s protective hand. One recent instance stands out vividly. We were driving home from a Christmas trip when a trailer suddenly swerved into our lane. I had barely a second to react, having just smiled at the driver a mile back. Miraculously, the people around us screamed, and the trailer stopped just before almost crushing our car from behind. I knew without a doubt that God had intervened. His protection was evident, and I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude.

In life, we often face crossroads and difficult decisions. During these moments, God’s guidance becomes our most precious resource. He promises to instruct and teach us, providing the direction we need to navigate our journey.

There have been countless times in my life where I didn’t know which path to take. One such time was when I faced a major career decision. I was struggling with what path to follow. I was torn and unsure, but as I prayed and sought God’s guidance, He provided clarity. Through His Word, the counsel of friends, and a deep sense of peace, I knew the direction to take. His guidance was like a gentle whisper, leading me on the right path.

I don’t know what my life would have been without the people in it. Life is already hard as it is. No matter how much faith we have, life is hard. We all need trustworthy people to walk by our sides through the ups and downs we face, celebrating our successes, showing compassion for our struggles, and encouraging us to keep going. True friends and supporting family can be hard to find, and if we’re blessed enough to have them, we should cherish and appreciate them as the gifts from God they are.

It is incredibly amazing how God brings people into my life just when I need them. My family and friends are truly one of His greatest gifts. They laugh with me in my joy, comfort me in my sorrow, and walk with me through seasons. Oh, Lord, thank You!

Whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual healing, God has shown His mercy and love through His restorative touch. He is the Great Physician, always ready to heal our wounds and renew our strength. 

There were plenty moments in my life when I felt broken (the stories are all on this blog) and in need of healing. During those times, God's presence brought me comfort and recovery. Like a doctor, He does a Heart Check on me. His healing power is not just limited to physical ailments but extends to our hearts and minds, bringing wholeness and peace.

I have experienced God’s restorative healing firsthand. Oh, my heart has been through so many surgeries and back. Glory to God! I have a special name I call God in those seasons; My Heart Keeper. God is always ready and willing to mend my heart each time the people I love hurt me. I just cry to Him, Dear Heart Keeper…

Isn't it amazing how God meets our needs? Not just the big, obvious ones, but even the little things we sometimes overlook.

God's provision comes in many forms—physical, emotional, spiritual, and more. Recognizing His hand in our daily lives helps us to remain thankful and trust in His constant care.

I remember a time when I was feeling incredibly lonely. It was a season where many of my close friends had moved away, and I felt isolated. I prayed for companionship and community. One day, I decided to accept an invitation to join a group for a tour on a whim. Little did I know, this group would become a source of deep friendships and support.

Reflecting on the gift of salvation fills our hearts with gratitude. It's not something we could ever earn; it's a gift freely given by a loving God.

I remember the moment I truly understood the depth of God's grace. It was during a church service when the speaker spoke about how Jesus made her life anew. It was a vibrant speaker who came to the Teens' church at the time. She spoke passionately about how the sacrifice on the cross was for each of us individually. I was smitten – both by her delivery and her conviction. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders as I wholeheartedly accepted this truth and embraced the freedom and joy that come with salvation.

As I look around at the world God has made, I am filled with awe and wonder. The intricate details of a flower, the beautiful colours on butterflies, the vastness of the night sky, the power of the ocean waves—all of these speak to the greatness of our Creator.

There is so much about basking in that awe. Such moments are precious. Like when I am at the beach. Ah! 

One of my most profound moments of worship happened during a walk on the mountains (a peep into our honeymoon). As I stood on a peak, looking out over the expanse of valleys and forests below, I was overwhelmed by the beauty of it all. In that moment, I couldn't help but lift my hands and praise God for His magnificent creation.

Someone I really admire recently got married to a man who is publicly considered to be a narcissist, and I started to feel concerned. I got a little invested in the news and started to do some research. Then, I found the term “love bombing”. It struck a chord in me. I have once been there. . .

Have you ever found yourself swept off your feet by someone who showers you with overwhelming attention and affection right at the start of a relationship? It can feel exhilarating, like a dream come true. But what if this intense adoration isn't as genuine as it seems? This tactic, known as love bombing, is a manipulative strategy where someone “bombs” you with extreme displays of attention and affection to control you.

The Temptation and Danger of Love Bombing

Love bombing can be incredibly flattering at first. Imagine being bombarded with texts, calls, gifts, and praise—it's like a dream. It feels great. However, this flood of affection can mask darker intentions.

If someone is love-bombing you, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are a bad person, or that they should be considered an enemy. In fact, they’re likely to be just dealing with trauma themselves.

Love bombers often use this tactic to gain control, particularly in abusive relationships. The abuser might shower you with love after a fight to manipulate you into staying. This cycle of abuse, apology, and grand gestures can be confusing and damaging.

When I began this blog in 2014, I was just dipping my toe into the writing waters. I considered myself a poet, weaving words into rhyme, not being aware it was God who was connecting the dots and giving my life its rhythm.

In some ways, it feels like the years have sped by, but at the same time, a lot of life has been lived in those years! What remains consistent is the faithfulness of our God. He has moved in incredible ways than I can ever imagine.

I had posted a picture on my WhatsApp status with the caption: “introducing: Maya” when it hit me that this is no ordinary thing. It is EXTRA! 

In a world where hair is more than just a style but a statement, I’m thrilled to introduce Maya, the revolutionary hair that embody boldness, confidence, and an unapologetically fearless spirit. Whether it’s about stepping into a boardroom or dancing the night away, Maya ensures you stand out and own your presence.

My hair has been through so many phases and back. Some rough and some quite interesting. The last phase was a roller coaster; I mean the post-partum hair breakage phase. It seemed as though it would never, ever bounce back.

My hair had been in a very vulnerable state for a very long time. After almost a year of battling with breakouts, I FINALLY decided to lock her up. I must say, she’s starting to thrive. Hallelujah!
