Facilitating at Lagos West Youth Confab: My Preparation and Expectations

There are moments in life when you can clearly see how God has been at work, preparing you for something significant. This opportunity, scheduled for Friday, is more than just an event—it feels like the culmination of a journey God has been guiding me on.

Embracing a God-Ordained Opportunity

When I received the invitation to be a facilitator at the Lagos West Youth Confab, themed “ENDORSED,” I felt an overwhelming sense of purpose and divine timing. What a kairos moment. It confirms my declaration for the year:

“Ten years being a blogger is a foundation for God has been preparing me for.”

I was beyond excited about the opportunity. I knew it was about time!!! Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 tells us that there is time for everything, and after a season of growth, we will enter a new season, the season of harvest. Glory! 

Preparing for the Workshop:

The topic I’d been entrusted with is ‘Content Creation for the Digital Age,’ a subject that’s incredibly relevant in today’s world. As I’m preparing for this workshop, I can see how each step has been divinely orchestrated. From the experiences I’ve gathered in digital content creation to the insights I’ve gained in mentoring, it’s clear that God has been equipping me for this moment.

And to think that I’m currently leading a 3-week training on content creation with some amazing teenagers is mind-blowing. It feels like every step of my journey has been perfectly timed, equipping me with the tools and insights I need to make a meaningful impact at the confab.

My preparation process has been both challenging and rewarding. I am prayerfully crafting the workshop content, ensuring that it’s not only informative but also engaging. It is my earnest desire that every participant walks away with practical knowledge they can immediately apply. As I develop materials like slides and outlines, I’m reminded of the importance of grounding everything in faith. This is not just about imparting knowledge—it’s about inspiring others to use their digital voices to glorify God.

What to Expect at the Confab:

The Lagos West Youth Confab is scheduled for Friday, August 16th, 2024, and I can't wait to explore this incredible opportunity.

The confab promises to be an enriching experience, bringing together young people from various backgrounds to learn, grow, and be inspired. The theme, “ENDORSED,” is all about recognizing the divine approval on our lives and stepping into our God-given roles with confidence.

In my workshop, participants can expect depth into understanding their role in the world of digital content creation. We’ll explore everything from crafting compelling stories to leveraging social media platforms effectively. I’ve designed the session to be interactive, with practical exercises that will help attendees not just learn, but also create and share their own content by the end of the workshop.

If you’re passionate about making your mark in the digital space or simply want to learn new skills that can upgrade your personal or professional life, this is the workshop for you.

My Role as a Facilitator:

Being a facilitator goes beyond just delivering content. It’s about guiding discussions, encouraging participation, and helping others discover their own potential. The weight of this responsibility isn’t lost on me. I’m approaching this role with a heart full of prayer and a deep desire to make a positive impact.

One of the challenges I anticipate is ensuring that the content resonates with a diverse group of young people, each with their unique perspectives and experiences. But with challenges come opportunities for growth, and I’m eager to rise to the occasion.

On a deeper level, this experience is a reminder of the importance of leadership and mentorship in our walk. As I prepare, I’m also reflecting on how God has been equipping me for this moment, and I’m trusting Him to guide every step of the way.

As the day approaches, my excitement continues to build. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, sharing insights, and learning together. My hope is that this workshop will be a stepping stone for many young people to discover and hone their creative talents, and ultimately use them for God’s glory.
